Deb Bailey, Vancouver, BC

I lost my daughter, Ola (nickname- Izzy), aged 21, on Dec. 23, 2015. She was struggling with an addiction to heroin and died after taking heroin which also contained Fentanyl. Since then, I have been actively working towards change in the way we view and treat those who suffer from addiction.

A collection of photographs of Izzy can be seen on this website https://rhondadent.pixieset.com/izzy2012/

On behalf of her late daughter Ola, Deb is a co-plaintiff in a litigation launched by the Canadian Association of People Who Use Drugs against the government of Canada to rule that the criminalization of people who use durgs is unconstitutional. Her statement starts at the 30 minute mark.
