Kim Nam - Director-At-Large, British Columbia

Kim works and lives on the traditional unceded homelands of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She shares a home with her husband and 2 dogs, Archie, and Louis.

Kim has a professional background of 25+ years in international finance at Goldman Sachs and HSBC. Since moving to Vancouver she has worked in the capacity of a fractional chief operating officer for Changemark Research and Evaluation Ltd, where she set up and led the operations and finance technology function. Her time at Changemark has given her the opportunity to learn about the substance use crisis and the need to help all those affected with whatever supportive services speaks to each individual. She feels called to use her skills and experience to help where she can.

As Treasurer, Kim will use her skills in financial operations and management and resource management, management and leadership, process and systems optimization, growth and scalability, risk management and compliance.

Kim excels at working collaboratively with stakeholders to understand the problem, design the solution, and effectively execute the plan, ensuring alignment and buy-in across stakeholders.

Kim takes a partnership approach with a caring, people-oriented and collaborative style. Kim balances positivity and a can-do style with the need to be thorough and factual. Kim is an effective teacher and mentor, openly and generously sharing thought processes and knowledge to empower others.

Kim attained a BSc in International Banking and Finance, Kim is a certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP), has a certification in non-profit management from SFU, she has completed programs in Strategic Planning and Leading Change at Smith School of Business and AI: Implications for Business Strategy at MIT Sloan School of Management.
