Why are we add voting members?

In keeping with the bylaws we adopted at the 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and in preparation for our charitable application we have a new membership category: Voting Member

What is a voting member?

Voting members are a special membership class according to our bylaws. They must be network members of MSTH and voting membership must be renewed annually. Only voting members are able to vote at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

The current voting member term runs from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024.

Voting members are a vital part of non-profit organizations. Every voting member has the power to put the right people in charge and this can make a difference in the organization’s ability to reach its goals.

Who can become a voting member?

Every member of MSTH is eligible to become a voting member, as long as you are registered in our new database Better Impact.

If you are not a member yet you can join us, by following the process outlined below and becoming a voting member at the same time.

We understand that not every member will want to become a voting member. It is up to you and nothing changes your other membership benefits. You can still attend our AGM, meet the candidates, hear what is going on and ask questions, but you can’t stand for election and you are not able to vote if you are not a voting member.

How do I become a voting member by registering on Better Impact?

If you are not yet registered as a member of Moms Stop The Harm on our new database (Better Impact), please go to our website https://www.momsstoptheharm.com/join and read the information and click on the button that says “JOIN THE MOMS STOP THE HARM NETWORK HERE.” Choose a username and password and follow the links to enter your information. It is like a new registration, but you can note in the comments. When you register you can select if you want to be a Network Member - Seeking Support or a Network Member - Active Advocate, plus a voting member.

How do I become a voting member if I am already registered on Better Impact?

If you are already signed up as a MSTH member with a username and password on Better Impact go to this login page to review your information: https://app.betterimpact.com/Login/Login (you can reset your password if needed) and follow these steps

Once logged in select Edit My Profile.
On the top right of the page under the MSTH logo select My Profile
On the pull down menu choose Additional Info
The second heading under additional info “I would like to join Moms Stop The Harm as a: (Choose all that apply)”
In that heading click the box “MSTH Society Voting Member ($10 Annual Fee - renewable)”
To pay the $10.00 annual fee go to www.momsstoptheharm.com/donate and note “annual fee” in your comments (please reach out if paying the fee prevents you from becoming a voting member).

While you are looking at your profile make sure your contact information and all other details are up to date.
